Animal health and hygiene

At the Van Asten Group, animal health and hygiene come first. Because we only work with animals that we rear ourselves, our animals are extremely healthy. We apply strict rules for employees and visitors in our stables. Everyone who enters our stables must first shower, both upon entry and upon departure. In addition, visitors must not have come into contact with pigs for at least 48 hours before coming to our site.

We have two separate canteens, one for people who work in the stable and one for those who work outside the stable. New materials are also placed in the quarantine area for three weeks before they are used.

HyCare method

At the Van Asten Group we work according to the HyCare method. Within the different locations, each animal category has its own color. This means that the farrowing stable has blue overalls, boots, etc. and the breeding stable has green overalls, boots, etc. We do this to prevent diseases at the locations and therefore we have to use fewer antibiotics.

With the HyCare method we maximize hygiene within the company and therefore also the health of our animals.
